The Conservation Commission provides free garden plots to residents at the south end of Longmeadow Street on Conservation Land known as the Pomeroy/Tabor Plot. Gardeners share in the expenses for plowing the plots and using water for irrigation. One of the gardeners serves as the Community Gardens Coordinator and collects the fees annually for the water and the plowing and pays the bills. The Coordinator also assigns the plots. Gardeners are expected to pick up and dispose of any of their trash and to clear their plots at the end of the growing season. Residents that are interested in obtaining a plot can send an email to
concom@longmeadow.org or call the office at 565-4100 extension 1323.
